Tamper Resistant GFCI Receptacle

Pass & Seymour/Legrand combined its industry-leading Tamper-Resistant Decorator Receptacles with a GFCI to provide a Tamper-Resistant GFCI Receptacle. The Tamper-Resistant Receptacle includes a UL-listed, automatic mechanical shutter system that prevents objects from being inserted into the outlet. According to Consumer Products Safety Commission estimates, approximately 1,300 children suffer serious injuries every year from inserting objects into electrical outlets. The Tamper-Resistant GFCI combines innovation with the utmost consideration for child safety. All P&S GFCIs are designed for quick and easy installation, a feature that reduces the number of costly callbacks for contractors. P&S GFCIs also have SafeLock protection, which disconnects power to the receptacle if critical components are damaged and ground fault protection lost. The 2005 NEC regulations now demand that Tamper-Resistant Receptacles be used in all pediatric locations, including areas that require GFCI Receptacles. To meet these requirements, P&S also created a Hospital Grade version of the Tamper-Resistant Receptacle.
