Vacancy Sensors

Cooper Wiring Devices' line of vacancy sensors offers builders, electrical contractors and consumers a new option in achieving lighting efficiency, which defrays rising energy costs. Cooper Wiring Devices' vacancy sensors meet California's Title 24 standards and handle incandescent, electronic low voltage, magnetic low voltage, fluorescent and compact fluorescent loads. There is no minimum load requirement, and they can handle up to an 800W load. These vacancy sensing wall switches use PIR (passive infrared technology) to detect when a room becomes vacant. Once the room is left unoccupied for a predetermined period of time, as determined by the user, the light turns off automatically.
