Square D Arc Terminator

Square D Services for Schneider Electric added a new product solution designed to improve workplace safety: the Arc Terminator arc extinguishing system that eliminates the danger of arcing faults in medium-voltage switchgear. The Arc Terminator uses state-of-the-art technology to detect and terminate the dangers of medium-voltage arcing faults. Through high-speed sensing of current and flash, the Arc Terminator extinguishes arcs in less than .004 seconds (1/4 of an electrical cycle) before pressure can reach dangerous levels. For new or existing medium-voltage equipment, the device installs into Square D MasterClad MV switchgear; it can also be retrofitted into other manufacturer's equipment.
